the weather has been heating up again. i miss seasons, especially autumn, like some people miss sunshine. it hurts my heart a bit to be deprived of the cycles--the gradual changing of summer ripeness to the beauty of dying autumn. it reminds me that, not only is death beautiful, but the way to death is beautiful. i also love how seasons mirror the seasons of the Church--as the Earth moves towards its temporary death, the Church moves to the close of the year and the beginning of the new: preparation for the winter that the world was in before the coming of our Lord.
i have been thinking a lot recently about children, and have come to the conclusion that they play a different role in every marriage. i do not know when God will deign to entrust us with human souls, but i pray i can be ready. is it even possible to be ready for such a thing? i say i am a muddler, and i do mean it! who isn't, though, i suppose? in the meantime, here is Artemis with a bottle cap on her head.
