anthropologie: explaining the attraction

i am not by nature a shopper.  i do not enjoy browsing through endless racks of clothes not my size, color, or taste.  i do not enjoy being blasted by such noise as so many stores apparently consider music.  my idea of relaxing normally consists of reading a book, cozied in my little 'ome with my husband and cats, preferably with tea or likker.

BUT

as my friends and husband can attest, there is one store that gets to me every time.  it strikes a deep chord in my being, one that vibrates calm and delight.  i propose because it is a store that exudes beauty.  it honors the elegance, femininity, and uniqueness of women.  their styles are charming, reminiscent of an era when women dressed like women and were unashamed to be almost flirtatiously feminine in the swing of their skirts and curve of their blouses.  to paraphrase joe, these clothes are worthy of the dignity of the human person, especially the female human person.
in addition to the clothes, the very store contains a delicately artful ambiance of the natural world.  floors, walls, and ceilings are of wood, instead of heavy industrial materials.  the shelves are also wood, or perhaps glass, instead of stacks of plastic or clumsy metal.  the decor is cloth, paper, paint--human materials--arranged in tastefully subtle suggestions of a less citified time.  the music, whilst funky, is usually unobtrusive, even soothing.  the sales people are friendly, helpful, and quiet.

if there is an ideal of shopping, i would say this has to be it.

I was going to ask what store it was until I saw the comments: I'll have to check that one out sometime...
